| so...
today i was overwhelmed.
i let a pizza guy into my dorm. why the overwhelming sensation? the
pizza guy was this indian guy in his mid-30's or 40's or so. and a few
weeks ago, i saw an old white guy trying to deliver pizzas in the
drizzling rain to some stupid address some kid had given him.
i realized that this sort of thing hits me. i wouldn't be sad if, say,
it was a college student or something who was delivering the pizzas.
and it's not just pizzas-- its the ones who serve us, the ones who
clean for us, the ones who work at mcdonalds, etc. etc...
i don't want to be served by people who are two, three, four times my age. it seems so insulting.
i guess i am particular about this, as my family has never been fully
middle-class, and as my dad got started on his new career as a MTA bus
driver. i am so happy that he gets to drive, but at the same time, i
realize the millions of people who have only a fraction of the
opportunity afforded to me, as a stanford student. me, as a
second-generation asian american.
what kills me also is when the janitors bring their children in to work
with them. sometimes i see 10-year olds with the same vacuums strapped
to their shoulders who work alongside their fathers during the wee
hours of night. what can i do?

| hello =)
i live in bayside now, not the bronx. it's kind of sad not being able to say "june, from the bronx".
wow it's been a very long time since high school, or junior high.. or
cty. sometimes i see mark chen or alex choo and think, woah! i knew you
about a decade ago.
i read through a bunch of people's xangas and facebook profiles, and
it's interesting, though the # of people who actually update has
dwindled year by year. you can find out who graduated, who has a job,
who began to follow jesus, who's dating who, where people went, etc.
without feeling guilty. ^__^
i wonder where i'll be in 4 more years. i don't think i could have
imagined that i'd be who i am now, 4 years ago. god has been good to me.

| oh wow xanga's so different now.
look at all these icons. it reminds me of when i took intro to java
(106a) we had these competitions on the programs all the time-- the
person who made the nicest program got an automatic 100 on the final.
so once we were supposed to make something with graphics. i think i
made a robot or something (made up of a few circles, a few rectangles,
and i think that's about it). the fricking winner had programmed a
version of microsoft PAINT. so you could create different colors and
shapes and thicknesses and erase what you do and everything like that.
it looked like the OG.
-___-;;
but i was so disillusioned when
i started programming. like clicking on a button with your mouse
doesn't actually click the button--- the button's just another
rectangle on your screen that's linked to a bunch of other commands on
some other guy's code =(. they just make you think you're
clicking it cuz they add that tiny little depression that makes you
feel like your click has moved the button. but really they just changed
the position, changed the color just a little bit. enough to make you
feel like you did something.
anyway. i talked to hunter people recently. so long ago! it was 8 or 9 years ago. does that make you feel old?

| dang. i went through my old diaries the other day.
i wrote like dish and did all sortz of dem qt-sy thingz...
!!!!!!!!
other funny things:
in '97 or so, on my "list of cool things" was cursing.
and in '99 or so, on my list of new years' resolutions:
to be quieter
to quit cursin'
so i think it's interesting. i used to be a loud, cursin' lil girl hey? what d'yall think of that?? haha.
some other things:
i said guys were "mad phly" hahahahahhah (no not you, whoever you think you are)
